The Huntingdon Area School District encompasses an active
community of 20,000 residents living in Central Pennsylvania. The
student population consists of approximately 1000 elementary students
(K-5). 600 Middle School Students (6-8), and 800 High School
Students(9-12).
With educational programs to meet the needs of and goals
of all students, the schools offer remedial education through gifted
support programs. The schools also offer an extensive selection of
electives including computer literacy, cooperative education, business
education, agricultural and advanced science classes. Participation
with the Huntingdon County Career and Technology Center challenges
interested students to advance to high-tech and career education programs.
HASD has a collaborative partnership with Juniata College in Huntingdon
that provides qualified students with a wide range of exceptional
educational opportunities.
Extracurricular activities, interscholastic sports,
excellent cooperation and support from the community, PTO's, booster
clubs, and volunteers enhance the efforts of the district staff.
